Top 5 reasons to book direct instead of using 'online travel agents' or OTAs (OTAs= Airbnb, VRBO, HomeAway, Booking.com)

• By booking direct you are ensuring that all your money ends up supporting local businesses. Booking directly enables the property to receive the entire payment whereas if guests book via a 3rd party OTA, the amount that the property receives can be up to 25% less than the guest is actually paying due to the fact that 3rd parties take such large commissions.

• Early check in! Get your trip started sooner by booking direct. 

• No extra or “surprise” service fees. You are able to get a better rate and exclusive availability by booking direct.

• Better deals and packages. Booking direct may allow you to take advantage of special deals, packages and amenities. 

• Better customer service. You’ll be in direct contact with your host and receive a much higher level of customer service and will have greater ease of communication.

We use Houfy to book direct. Houfy provides an easy to use, unique and enhanced experience to list and find vacation rental properties with no booking fees or communication restrictions.

Policies/cancelation

Though we certainly hope you don’t have to, if you find that you need to cancel your trip, please let us know 14 days prior to your arrival date for full refund, 7 days out for 75% refund. Cancelations less than 7 day out, 50% refund.

Check-in/check-out

In your pre-arrival email, you will receive directions to the rental and be given code to the digital door lock to let yourself in.  Check-in is at 1:00 PM, for those booking direct and 4pm for those booking through an OTA. Check-out is at 11:00 AM.  Please respect these times for our cleaning service to prepare for your arrival and / or anyone staying after your stay.  Please refer to the check-out procedures emailed to you in the digital guidebook.

Occupancy

The Wanderer is a 300 square foot shipping container transformed and upcycled into a vacation home! Therefore, guest count is limited to a maximum of five (5) people (this includes babies & small children under 2). If guests misrepresent themselves, they will be required to vacate the rental immediately without a refund.

Rental agreement

You will be asked to sign and return a rental agreement. If we do not receive the signed agreement within 48 hours, your reservation will be canceled. You must be 21 or older to rent.

Property rules:

Rules for the property will be provided in the rental agreement and in the digital guidebook upon booking.
